Precious Promises – Day 14 by SGLY Ministry
Today’s Promise: INHERITANCE “Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, Who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14 (NIV) Today’s Thought: Believers are marked–sealed–guaranteed–a place in heaven. God has reserved a place for them–Jesus has paid for it—and the Holy Spirit has guaranteed it. All Believers need do is believe it–claim it –and live in the joyful hope ! Believers, let’s go forth today praising God for this inheritance we have received in Christ! “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade, kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:3-5 (NIV) Wow! Isn’t that a reason to rejoice today? Today’s Prayer: Dear God, what a wonderful promise this is! I shall rejoice daily knowing that I am sealed with Your Holy Spirit and guaranteed a place in heaven because of my faith in Jesus. Thank You, God, for not only providing a place in eternity with You forever, but also placing Your Holy Spirit within me, which allows me to have an abundant life here on earth too. For all this I rejoice and give You thanks and praise for Your great mercy! God, please help me to be able to tell others about this great promise, so they too can receive the inheritance You want to give to all. In Jesus name I pray, Amen ********** Infuse Your Mind with Faith One of my favorite things to say is, "Where the mind goes, the man follows," because the way you think determines the way you live…. Yesterday, you may have let your mind focus on the negative—what you can't do, how badly you've messed up, all the things that could go wrong—but today you can submit your mind to the Word of God. You can actually choose the thoughts you are going to dwell on. With the help of the Holy Spirit, you can change your thoughts today. You can choose a better, more positive, more fulfilling life. —Joyce Meyer This Week's Scripture: “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16 ESV Tip from Joyce: “As you read or listen to God’s Word and spend time talking to Him in prayer, your spirit will eventually become stronger than your flesh.” – Joyce Meyer Study Suggestion: Make a habit of studying God’s Word in the area of thoughts. Here are some scriptures to get you started! 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, *Deuteronomy 30:19, *Ephesians 4:22-24, *Hebrews 4:12, *Romans 12:2, *Colossians 3:1-2, *Romans 8:37. ********** Exodus 10:19 ‘The LORD changed the east wind into a very strong west wind, which picked up the locusts and blew them into the Gulf of Suez. Not one locust was left in all of Egypt.’ - God can turn any situation around in a moment. - Here we see how God changed the wind and as a result the whole situation changed. - He can step into your situation and change the way things are. - Nothing is too difficult for Him. PRAYER: Lord, I pray that You will cause things to turn in the areas that I am trusting You for. May the wind of Your Spirit blow over my life and bring about the healing, the breakthrough, and the change that only You can bring. Amen. Kind Regards Pastor Andrew Roebert ********** A Time Claimed for God by Max Lucado A friend described to me her daily ninety-minute commute. “Ninety minutes,” I commiserated. “Don’t feel sorry for me,” she smiled, “I use the trip to think about God.” She went on to describe how she fills the hour listening to entire books of the Bible. She recites prayers. By the time she reaches her place of employment, she’s ready for the day. She says, “I turn my commute into my chapel.” Is there a block of time you can claim for God? Perhaps turning off the network news and opening your Bible. Set the alarm fifteen minutes earlier. Rather than watch TV as you fall asleep, listen to an audio version of the Bible or a Christian book. Jesus says, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32 ESV). ********** Getting-Through Times by Sally I. Kennedy “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 "Getting-through times”, those times we go through that we have not chosen and simply have to get through. It’s not a time for a new project or a new adventure, or a big move or big decision. When possible, take small steps, baby steps. And little things. Like make a phone call to an old friend, check in with a neighbor. Do a mindless task or two…..clean the trash bin, water the plants, clean out a desk drawer. Trim a plant, or make a cutting to root a new one. Play some relaxing music, or - some fun sing along music! Whenever you can, get outdoors. There is a world of healing in sunshine and fresh air Even on rainy or misty days there is something magical to simply be outdoors for a bit of time. Little things. Rest. Take a nap. Read a book. Read the Psalms….not all at once maybe one or two a day. Think about what you could do for someone else, some small thing. And remember, getting-through times don’t last forever (even though sometimes it feels as though it will!) And the single most important thing to remember is: you are not alone! The Lord is with you and He will get you through these times. Thank you Lord. Hebrews 13:5 ..God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” Joshua 1:5 … “I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Matthew 28:20……”be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” ********** YOUR DAILY INSPIRATION “Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).” Psalm 55:22 (AMP) This is another scripture that I hold so dear. So much happens in life, good and bad, that I know that I need the security that God’s Word brings to manifest in my life and so I read His Word and claim each of His promises as my own. One of the things that I love so much about the Bible is that it is part instruction manual on how to live life and part love letter to us from God and each makes me grateful. God, in His benevolence, loves us so much that He wants to carry our burdens for us. To me that shows real love and so when I read this scripture it makes me appreciate Him all the more. Burdens, trial and tribulations are such awful things. They really are. Some are so vicious that they leave you wondering if you will ever recover; but I take comfort in the fact that I do not have to carry the load on my own. I can give it to God and He will sustain me through the storm with His love and His peace. That image alone is enough to make my heart leap. When I am casting my cares to the Lord, I actually do visualize myself lifting them up and throwing them up over my shoulder until they are gone. Now, I must admit depending on what is troubling me, I may find myself doing this over and over again until I feel the full weight of it gone; but the good news is that I do remain really persistent because I know from experience just how freeing it is to not be tied down by that weight. Isn’t God good? This promise that He will bear the full weight of my burden if I surrender it to Him just makes me so thankful. Beloved, if you aren’t already giving your burdens over to God, I pray that you will. I know from experience that He is waiting with arms opened wide to receive them from you. -Nina Fortson “Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).” Psalm 55:22 (AMP) Father, thank You so much for wanting to carry my burdens for me. Not only does it warm my heart, but it also continues to serve as a reminder of just how much You love me. Thank You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen ********** “Come to me”, says the Lord "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 Life can get weary sometime. The routine toil day after day could easily overwhelm us. Where will we go then? What will we do? How will we find solace? Only by taking it all to God Almighty and hear Him say these very words: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, I will give you rest". Interestingly the invitation is forever open, it is us finding time to attend to it that prevents us from enjoying it's benefits. In Matthew 6:33 we read: "Seek ye first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Often times our burden gets heavier because we have not sought after God first. Let us set aside a regular prayer time and list all our needs at His feet and see if His invitation stands true in our case. I am 100% positive it is! Tested & true! Would you like to try it yourself? Coffee with Jesus
