Precious Promises – Day 4 by SGLY Ministry

Today’s Promise: BLESSINGS
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV)

Today’s Thought:
As Believers in Christ we have received every spiritual blessing, that means we have been given all we will ever need to succeed in this life.
These blessings of God should outweigh any difficulties of the present time, and they should remind us that we are loved, provided for, and protected in the present as well as in the future.
As we consider God’s gift of salvation, His many promises to us, all the spiritual blessings received in Christ, and the promise of Jesus return and His coming Kingdom, we should be brought into a constant state of joy, no matter what our current situation might be.

Today’s Prayer:
Dear God, As Your child, who has believed and received Your Son, Jesus, as my Savior and Lord, I come before You now in prayer to claim all of the promises and spiritual blessings that You have for me in the heavenly places.
Father, what You have purposed in Heaven for me, I ask You, in the name of Jesus, to bring to earth for me so that I might walk in Your blessings and promises daily.
May You bless me and protect me. May You smile on me and be gracious to me May You show me Your favor and give me Your peace.
For nothing in this world can compare to Your promises and the blessings given by You.
Thank You, God. In Jesus precious name I pray. Amen
[Prayer based on Ephesians 1:3, Psalm 138:8, Numbers 6:24-26, 2 Peter 1:4]

As God’s children we should be aware of all the blessings we have received from Him so we can learn how to use them in our lives daily. Not only will they strengthen and uplift us, but they will also reflect His glory to others as we walk in them daily.

The Power of Prayer

Thought for the Day

"God has blessed all of us in some way. If you spend your time always looking at how someone else is blessed, you may miss how you are. Take time today to notice, accept, and be thankful for God's blessings that surround you."

Today's Word

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." (Number 6:24-26 NIV)

Today's Prayer

Thank you, heavenly Father, for all of the blessings you have given me. Amen

Check The Oil By David C. McCasland

My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up. —Psalm 5:3

When I helped our daughters learn to drive, I included a little instruction on basic auto maintenance. We visited a local service station where they learned to check the oil every time they put fuel in the car. Today, years later, they often remind me of my six-word slogan, “Oil is cheap; engines are expensive.” Adding a quart of oil is nothing compared to replacing an engine.

Maintenance is also important in our spiritual lives. Taking time each day to read the Bible, pray, and listen to God is a key element in avoiding a breakdown. In Psalm 5, David wrote, “My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You” (v.3). In the following verses he poured out his heart in praise, thanksgiving, and requests to God.

Many people find it essential to begin every day with the Lord. Before checking email, catching the news, or eating breakfast, they find some quiet moments alone to read a portion of God’s Word, praise Him for His greatness, thank Him for His love, and seek His guidance. Others spend time reading and praying at different times of the day.

It’s not magic—it’s maintenance, as we ask the Lord each day to fill our hearts with His presence on the road of life.
Give me a strong desire, O Lord, to look into Your
Word each day. Help me hide it in my heart so that
I might not stray from Your truth. Feed me and
teach me about Yourself and Your will for me.

The roots of stability come from being grounded in God’s Word and prayer.

But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God. (NLT) Psalm 146:5

Where do you turn when your life turns into a mess? How do you pick up the pieces? A mess is always easier to clean when you have someone helping you. God is just waiting for you to invite Him into your mess.

1 John 4:16 'And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.'

- The fact that God loves you should be a fact that reassures you.
- His love for you is something you can rely and depend on.
- His love makes it possible for you to face any storm and overcome it.
- Knowing that God loves us give us the strength to press on.

Prayer: Lord, Your love is something that I can build my life upon because Your love will endure and Your love for me will carry me. I choose to rely on Your love for me. Amen.

Today’s Scripture: “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? ...” (Romans 10:14–15, NLT)

What’s Your Part?

It’s amazing how God can create so many people in the world and set up a plan for us to work together for His purposes to build the body of Christ. We all have a part. One scripture puts it this way: some plant seeds, some water, and some bring in the harvest. No matter what role each of us have, when we work together, we are honoring God. It pleases Him when we partner with one another to share the good news of the Gospel.

Today, know that you have an important part in the body of Christ. Whether you minister in the pulpit or on the street corner, or whether you sow seed so that others can go, you are important. Don’t ever underestimate the part you play because together we are building His kingdom.A Prayer for Today: “Father, I humbly come to You today. Thank You for giving me a part to play in building Your kingdom. I dedicate back to You the resources You have given me. Use me for Your glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

A Bible Devotion

Don't Give Up!

1 CORINTHIANS 10:13 THE MESSAGE 13 No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he'll never let you be pushed past your limit; he'll always be there to help you come through it.

All of us have been tempted to lose hope and give up. But we always have a choice: focus on God and stay in faith, or focus on the problem and give up.

Problems -- no matter how huge they seem to us -- are no problem to God. Nothing is too hard, or complicated, for God to solve. But God wants us to trust Him.

So what should you do when you are being tempted and feel like giving in and giving up?

Refuse!

Just keep your focus on the Lord and rejoice in His faithfulness. Remember that God cannot lie, and will never fail. God will see you through.

HEBREWS 10:23 NKJ 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

When the devil tries to steal your faith, he tries to get you to quit speaking in agreement with the Word of God. Don't let it happen! Hold fast to speaking your faith! Keep on saying what the Word of God says about you and your situation. Don't be moved by the circumstances.

GALATIANS 6:9 NIV 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Don't grow weary. Keep your eyes on the Lord. His Word will work and produce a harvest of blessing in your life. Don't doubt it!

SAY THIS: I will keep trusting in God and never give up!

Facing Change

Read Genesis 45:1-5

So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart.
-Psalm 90:12 (NRSV)

ONE weekend I went mountain biking with my daughter and son-in-law. My son-in-law flew down the trail, bouncing over tree roots and dodging the rocks. My daughter followed, and I went last, easing my bike gently over the bumps, squeezing the brakes until my hands started to cramp. At the bottom of the trail, my daughter hugged us both, beaming: "My two favorite men, and they both enjoy the same things." Chuckling, I replied, "Yeah, but I like them a whole lot slower."

During the past few years I've come to realize that some things I can't do anymore; other things I can still do, but with limitations. And those limitations, while not surprising, can be extremely frustrating. Yet as I read the story of Joseph, I learned that change doesn't have to be disabling.

Joseph endured a number of profound changes. Even when these led him into desperate situations - first as a slave, then as a prisoner - he believed that God was at work. He assured his brothers: "God sent me before you to preserve life" (Gen. 45:5). Joseph's attitude allowed him to concentrate on what he could do rather than complain about the changes he faced. Consequently, he was able to thrive in the midst of adversity.

Prayer
Father, help us to discover opportunities in each new stage of life and to live each day rejoicing in your presence. Amen.

Thought for the Day
Focus on what you have and not on what you have lost.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. — 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NIV)

This Too Shall Pass by Joyce Meyer

Sometimes, when we’re going through a difficult season, we don’t think we can make it through. But God promises us in His Word that He will never allow more to come on us than we can bear as we rely on Him (see 1 Corinthians 10:13).

Second Corinthians 2:9 says that His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. This means when we go through hard times, God wants to show Himself strong through us.

In our family, when difficult things are happening, we like to say, “This too shall pass.” It’s an important reminder that it won’t last forever.

The truth is, getting upset about our problems never changes them. However, I’ve learned that choosing to adopt a positive attitude can make a difference. When bad things happen or we’re uncertain about the future, it can be even tougher to think and say things that are positive. But it’s helpful to remember that things will change...a new season is right around the corner.

When I am in the midst of a difficult time, I choose to dwell on passages like Romans 8:35-39. I remind myself that God loves me no matter how difficult life is at the moment. I focus my thoughts on His strength and ability to pull me through any situation. As I do, I can sense faith rising up inside of me.

During tough times, it’s easy to think, I can’t do this—it’s just too hard. Watch for that type of thinking. Then, when you recognize it, replace it with a God-inspired thought like:

I can do whatever I need to do because God is with me. This too shall pass. (See Philippians 4:13; Psalm 16:8.)

Pray: “God, thank You for the strength to make it through this season. I know You are with me and it won’t last forever. Help me to choose faith-filled thoughts and attitudes that will bring peace to the situation and remind me that You have good things in store for the future. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
