Precious Promises – Day 3 by SGLY Ministry
Today’s Promise: BELIEF There are several Promises concerning Belief. This is a list of them and their benefits. 1. Belief in Jesus equals Eternal Life. John 3:16 2. Belief in Jesus equals forgiveness of sins. Acts 10:43 3. Belief on Jesus equals that we will not be put to shame. Romans 9:33 4. Belief in Jesus equals us the right to become children of God. John 1:12 5. Belief in Jesus equals that we are not condemned. John 3:18 Conditions to receiving these promises are: Belief in and on Jesus. Today’s Thought: What is Belief? The dictionary defines it as: 1. something believed; an opinion or conviction 2. confidence, faith; or trust: in the truth or existence of something So as we see those who believe (have the confidence, faith and trust) in and on Jesus receive much from God. Today’s Prayer: Dear God, I want to claim all these Precious Promises regarding Belief. I want Eternal Life and Forgiveness of sins. I do not want to be put to shame or condemned, but I want the right to become a child of God. I have learned that by believing in and on Jesus I will be able to claim all of these Precious Promises. So, I will choose to do that right now God, so I can live in victory forever! Thank You, for hearing and accepting my prayer of Belief and I believe now that I will receive. Amen ********** Seek God Early Psalm 63:1-8 You’ve probably heard people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A similar concept applies to our heart and mind. The fuel we give them each morning greatly affects the remainder of the day. Think of time in God’s Word, prayer, and meditation as spiritual nourishment for your relationship with the Father. David began his day with the Lord. In Psalm 63, he described seeking God early (the literal translation of earnestly). He woke up ravenous for his Creator, and after filling his yearning soul with the fullness of the Lord, he broke out in thanksgiving and praise to Him. Even while lying on his bed at night, David was still thinking about his heavenly Father. Just imagine having a day like that—filled with joy and gratitude to God. This is possible when we set apart the beginning of our day to spend with the Lord, listening to Him speak through His Word and talking to Him in prayer. Our blessing will be even richer when we stay mindful of God throughout the day and into the night, contemplating who He is and how He works. Seeking the Lord not only fills our empty soul; it also increases our hunger for more of Him. Do you find it a struggle to set apart time with the Lord each morning? Realize that lifelong habits begin with baby steps, not overwhelming resolutions. Start today—set aside 15 minutes this morning. Then try doing so for a few days, and see if the Lord begins to satisfy your soul and increase your hunger for Him. intouch.org ********** [God] has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.” --Hebrews 13:5 It’s great to have really close friends you can trust with just about anything, isn’t it. I’m blessed enough to have quite a few, and I know these true friends love me unconditionally. But the most amazing “friend” you and I have is God Himself. In John 15:15, Jesus makes an incredible statement when He says, “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” Now, one of the best definitions of the word “friend” I’ve ever heard is, “a person who comes in when the world goes out.” And that’s a pretty good summary of today’s verse. God is the truest of all friends…One who is always there and, no matter the circumstance, will NEVER forsake you. He will support you and love you absolutely unconditionally. He is the Friend “who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24). Jesus Christ is indeed your greatest and dearest Friend. And like any friend, I trust you speak with Him daily and love Him completely. Jesus Christ is the truest of all friends! Jack Graham ********** Pray before Answering For [of course] I will not venture (presume) to speak thus of any work except what Christ has actually done through me [as an instrument in His hands] to win obedience from the Gentiles, by word and deed. —Romans 15:18 The Father has sent to us a Counselor— the Spirit of Truth—who teaches us all things (See John 14:16,17,26). As we stay sensitive to God’s leading, He will direct us. If we pray before speaking, the Lord will keep us from overcommitting our time, and from misleading people. Jesus took time to listen to the Father before speaking. God will also give us “a word in due season” for somebody (See Proverbs 15:23), if we listen for His input before we give what we may think is a right answer. God will give us the right words to say, if we expectantly listen for His direction before we speak. From the book Starting Your Day Right by Joyce Meyer ********** Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? (NLT) 1 Chronicles 17:16 Have you looked back on your life to see how far God has brought you? Have you seen the protection of your family? The Lord has been good to you. Even though you have come through some tough times, the Lord has brought you very far. Go on, take a look back. Humble yourself before the Lord. Daily Bible Devotion ********** A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body, but envy, jealousy, and wrath are like rottenness of the bones. — Proverbs 14:30 (AMPC) Staying Calm Promotes Good Health by Joyce Meyer Staying healthy and feeling well physically should be a goal that we not only desire but work toward each day of our lives—because feeling good helps us in many ways, including how we handle stress. We only have one life to live and living it with energy and strength is very important. We put tremendous stress on ourselves by allowing negative emotions to drain us of needed energy. I encourage you today to set your mind to stay calm and think about things that add energy rather than diminishing it. If you have anything against anyone, forgive that person and let the offense go. When we forgive, it’s like letting someone out of prison, and we quickly find that we are the ones who have been set free. Don’t worry about tomorrow, but instead enjoy today. When tomorrow dawns, you will find the grace to deal with anything that comes with it. Prayer Starter: Father, thank You for reminding me how important it is to stay calm. I put my trust in You, and I ask that You help me not to be upset about anything. I ask this in Jesus’ name, amen.
